What is Alpha?
Alpha is a multi-week course beginning February 10th that creates a space where people come and discuss life’s big questions in a friendly, open and informal environment.
Let's have a conversation.
We believe that everyone should have the chance to explore faith, ask questions, and share their point of view.
Alpha is a series of sessions exploring the Christian faith. Each talk looks at a different question around faith and is designed to create conversation.
Alpha is run all around the globe, and everyone’s welcome. It runs online, in cafés, churches, universities, homes—you name it. No two Alphas look the same.
For our Alpha, we'll be meeting Mondays from 6:30pm-8:30pm at the Bloom 'n Bean.
What does an Alpha Session look like?
Here's what happens at Alpha:
At each 2-2.5 hour session, there is a time of connection over refreshments and/or drinks, where possible.
The time of connection is followed by a talk on a subject central to the Christian faith. They explore the big issues of life and faith and unpack the basics of Christian belief, addressing questions like “Who is Jesus?”, “Why and how do I pray?” and “How does God guide us?”
After the talk, participants divide into pre-arranged small groups, in which they remain for the duration of the Alpha course. The groups provide participants with opportunity to discuss the talk in an environment where each person is free to ask or say whatever they wish.
What are the details?
